ITR pistons in b16a1 block
What will the compression bump up to be with the USDM ITR pistons installed in a first gen b16 block. (Stock b16a1 pistons in there right now is 10.2:1)
And is there any machining required or they bolt right in?

You may wan't to wait for a more informed member to answer before you take my info for granted but I think the bore is the same size but the compression might actually be lower than stock.

Good answer! I'd go with the ctr (pct) pistons or forged.
with stock head your looking at a lower C/R, 9.7 instead of 10.2.
if you want to raise the compression with Honda pistons and use the stock B16A head then get B16B pistons to up it to 10.8.
or you could use the B16A block, B16B pistons and B18C1 head to get 11.07 using Honda parts. though the B18C1 head flows a bit different than the B16A/B18C5 head. still a good head either way.
or better yet you could get forged pistons with any C/R you wish for the most performance.

I'm planning on using the b16a1 block and head and was hoping to find a honda piston that'll up the compression so I can use the stock rods still. So my best bet is the ctr pistons right....making it 10.8. Is it worth the money raising it .6 CR? Any machining/boring, etc. required for ctr pistons w/ b16 rods? Also where's the best buy for these ctr pistons?

The end of the rods were the pin goes needs to be slightly milled. Cheap, and an machine shop can do it. Try www.thepartstrader.com someone usually has some for sale. Note that the comp. ration will probably be closer to 11-1 in an A series B16 block.

Which part is that, have any pics? (doing this for the first time)
Thanks.
