Anyone seen a thule or other rod rack?
Ive been looking for an easier way to carry around my fishing rods and I saw that thule makes a roof rack for rods. Has anyone seen one or any other brand of rod racks on a honda? Just curious as to how it looks. thanks
I was intrigued by this, so I had to investigate. Seems the system is called, the 885 casy away rack. It looks like it's discontinued, so eBay or craigs will be your ticket.
But the MacGuyver in me says that a PVC tube in a diameter big enough to protect the rods with end caps will be the quick solution. Make a bracket to hold it on the thule bars and off you go. Just sayin.

Yeah I don't see why they would discontinue that. Im wondering how high up that would sit? I could fab something but that thule box is pretty neat. The thing locks so you cant easily steel the reels, I saw a video of it.
This is true. I know they make aluminum tubes for roof racks. I don't know who makes them, but I see them on service trucks, (mainly contractors) Stow blueprints maybe?
Anyway, if you could do an aluminum version you can weld up a latch to lock the cap.

I did see this option though.
I dunno how well it would fit in a honda or how long your rods are, but looked like a good idea.

On a side note, if you do find something on orsracks use paypal I had a bad expirence with them and I was just glad to have used paypal and got my money. But by all means I'm not bashing them.
