OBD2 D15B in 94 DX coupe.
Hi, new here and have a few quick questions.
Just acquired a clean 94 DX coupe, and dropped an OBD2 D15B in it.
I'm planning on running it with a P28 (P08 basemap) and running the 2nd VTEC stage on a switch and the third stage as normal.
Will a D16Z6 harness run my engine with no modification?
Will it plug in to my ECU harness at the shock tower?
And, finally, will it run with the TD-41U I have or will I need another distributor?
Thanks!
Dylan

Distributor, alternator and injector plugs will all be different and have to be changed, or use obd1 components, distributor would need to come from a D15B7 or D15B8, injectors from a D15B7, D16Z6 or B-series, alternator from any '88 - '95 D-series.
Yes.

And I'm guessing the injectors will work because the D15B basically shares a head with the Z6?

correct.
I'm not sure I follow, I just said to swap injectors because the plug is different between OBD1 and OBD2, they have to come from a D15B7/D16Z6 or B-series because of the flowrate. D15B8s and D15Z1s are only 180 or 190cc, the rest are 240cc.

There is such thing as a OBD2 D15B? what car did they come out of? Is that a JDM engine maybe? I thought that was an OBD1 engine? Well as far as your harness question, yes you can run the Z6 harness, It will plug in at the shock tower. Vtec should work and all. If you do have a OBD2 engine you need to run the OBD2 distributor. OBD1 Will not work. just get the conversion harness for password jdm, save yourself any wiring hassle. use the OBD2 injectors, just change your pigtails, thats always what I've done with no problem

I gotcha, I'm pretty sure the car is using OBD1 injectors.
OBD1 = Grey plug
OBD2= Black plug
right?
I'm pretty sure they're from the Z6, the intake manifold is almost identical to a Z6 as well as the cylinder head, other than the two solenoids for the VTEC.
Got her up and running today!
CV's were clicking like crazy when i backed it outta the garage, so they're gone. And the motor definately smelled hot, think i need to play with ignition timing a bit....and wire up vtec......idle is wicked high.....
But point being, one harness, an ignition coil, and several long hours later, she's alive!
Beer time.

Intake manifold should like like a Y8 with an EGR valve if i remember correctly.
Could anyone here tell me for sure which solenoid does what in the three stage setup?
From searching, I've read that the red wire is the 12v to 16v switch, and the green wire goes straight to the ecu and is the 16v to wild cam switch.
and vice versa.
Does anyone know for sure?
I'll be wiring the 2nd stage (12v to 16v) to a hot-to-key switch so i can control it from the cabin, since my ECU won't run it right. Just need to know which wire to run to the ECU.
