Default B18b1 swap into 98 auto DX coupe

Hey guys, im finally gonna be swapping in my B18b1 into my auto dx coupe. So i have a pretty good idea of what ill need to do. There are a few things im confused about. The engine is OBD2 but right now its in a 92 civic cx hatch. Now how can i tell if they used a teg engine harness or if they modified the stock stuff to work on the OBD2 engine? Also how can i tell if the ECU is OBD1 or OBD2? Basically right now im not sure if im gonna have to repin the distributor or not, if im gonna need an ECU conversion harness (if the ECU is OBD1) and if it is could i not just get an OBD2 ECU and it would work properly with the engine?

Don't matter which harness is on the b18b engine, you can use your existing dx harness on the b18b when swapping it in your car. You can tell if the ecu is obd1/or obd2 by looking at the part # on the ecu label or by checking which ecu plugs will plug into the ecu. If using your dx harness, you will need the obd2 distributer unless you want to repin the obd1 distributer, that's possible too. I think that's all of your questions...

so if the engien is OBD2 and the distributor is OBD2 aswell i can just plug and play or will i have a problem if i end up using an OBD1 ECU?

Also i know i dont have to worry about the engine harness im just wondering if they used a teg engine harness maybe thats why it looks like its not a 2 plug distributor plug into the distributor harness like an OBD1 harness woudl have.

If the engine and distributor are both obd2a like your 98 dx, then most would be plug and play. If you want to use an obd1 ecu, you must order a custom (since your's is automatic) obd2a-obd1 harness.

is there much of a difference between obd2a and obd2b? If i have an OBD2 LS ECU will i should just be able to plug and play the whole swpa as long as i use OBD2 injectors/distributor and stuff.
