grinding/popping when turning (already searched)
Car is a 01 ls with stech springs on stock shocks. Car is making a grinding/popping noise when turning either direction that can be felt thru the steering wheel, floor board and sometimes brake pedal. Only does this at a stand still or at low speeds (5 to 10 mph) When the suspension is uncompressed on a jack or up on a lift the sound goes away and stays gone for a day or so. Two places have checked the car out and cannot find anything wrong with the car. Please help me figure this out. Forgot to mention that I have replaced drivers inner & out tie rod on driverside and lower all joints on both sides and had the car aligned.
Axle boots are intact. How can I check the axles myself because shop says they are good. I want to make sure before I throw parts at it. I thought it was axle at first too but I don't understand why the sounds goes away for a while after being uncompressed. Maybe someone with a better understanding can tell me. Thanks in advance for helping me figure this out.
usually it takes a while for the cv joints to fail even if your inboard or outboard boots are completely torn and cv grease spitting out everywhere especially on your inside of your wheels. if the cv joints are failing or starting to seize up then you should hear a metal clacking noise everytime you make a turn then its time to replace boot, etc. + rebuild the joints or go with a complete new axle w/ remanufactured joints/boots...btw: autozone, o'reily, etc. are all remanufactured axles and don't expect quality units though buying from the driveshaft shop is top dollar...doesn't sound like your having an axle/cv joint problem though if you already had it checked out at a shop.
Here are some videos of me moving the steering wheel back and forth quickly. LMK what you think.

i think its ur cv axles, if its not then u should check the front end parts ball joints tie rods etc, but i would definitely check the cv axles.
Should i be able to feel the vibration thru the axle shaft because I can't feel it when holding the axle. ( I just want to be sure before I go out and by an axle) I can feel it through the inner and outer tie rod but they are new.
im thinking your gonna have to put it up on an allignment rack.. or anything you can get to have the car up with the suspension compressed and have someone move it and be under the car at the same time to feel around and look with a light.. it sounds like something with steering... possibly rack... kinda hard to guess without being there...
Another thing u can check is the wheel bearing, check by putting the car on jack stands with wheels completely off the ground, and put one hand at 12 oclock the other 6 and push and pull, if there's play then its the wheel bearing. Remember when checking tie rod u go side to side wheel bearing up and down or push and pull top and bottom.
