Default 95 teggy noob owner upgrade options

hello all.

i just bought myself a 95 integra ls. the car has 194k on it. needs tlc but is overall sound.

i am 34 years old so i am not new to cars. i have a built 02 subaru bugsti.
i bought this car to get to and from work while my subaru heads are in the machine shop.

i don't have any immediate plans for building this car aside from the repairs to return it to great running condition.

so far i have changed the oil twice in less than 50miles. it was pretty ugly, and 2 quarts low. the intermediate pipe was seperated from the cat and the flange was really rusted to hell, but i was able to salvage the cat. went through inspection yesterday with no problem.

i had a mechanic buddy look at it for me and seems to immediately need the following.

clutch/flywheel.
motor mounts.
rear brake calipers.
rear pads, front pads.

i work on my own cars.

current goal for the car is street/daily driver.

i have an act hd organic street in my subaru. they make the same one for the teggy. looks like 600$ or so for that.
motor mounts come in three? is one a tranny mount or is that different? what brand do you guys like for those? looked around 90$ for polyurethane.
hawk pads? oem rear calipers are like 150$ each. i realize this platform has a lot of interchangeability with the honda civic. i realize the rear brakes don't do much, but with the subaru there is a 4pot 2pot upgrade that works well. what does acura have to offer. even if i have to change knuckles or hubs or whatever i want to consider options before i just buy oem replacement. the rotors seem reusable...i'll give em one cut.

the car could use a front seat upgrade...del sols?

how about new headlights? i will try to buff these up but they are pretty far gone. new headlights bring a car back from the dead!

soon enough we will be discussing a lsvtech vs new motor swap.

no open source tuning on these? you need hondata to get into the ecu?

ez guys

ill have to upload the service manual for you to download, your gona wanna do a valve adjustment which will require a new valve cover gasket, and spark plug tube seals, and a set of feeler gauges.

rockauto.com will have all the replacement parts you will need, like motor mounts and brake pads etc, i run raybestos service grade ceramic pads, centric premium rotors, and goodridge ss brake lines, and i couldnt be happier. The ss lines make a world of difference in the way the car stops.

The headlights are an easy fix without needing to replace them....

watch that whole vid tho, or you will **** it up, as far as the foggy turn signals, you can replace those with ebay lenses for 20 bucks.

ebay is never ok for anything that important, depending on how low you wanna go will decide which setup to use. Seeing as how you live in jersey like me, i personally dont recommend anything lower then a 1 inch drop for drivability. I run H&R oe sport springs on KYB GR-2's, but i plan on getting adjustable struts because this damn car rides like a shopping cart.

spawne32...yeah i frequent macys and lids in deptford mall a couple times a month.

i am getting some valve noise after 4k in acceleration. the harder i push the harder it taps so i have been nice to it so far.

i asked a friend about it and he told me its actually pretty easy.

there is a stud in the adjustment screw that gets tightened or loosened over the valve?
the feeler gauge is placed in between and set the screw to proper clearance. i assume the cams have to be set to top dead center or something? thats happenening this week. the clearences would be very helpful if you could hook that up.

it looks like the valve cover gasket is leaking a bit anyway. i am just hoping its not a cam seal. the plugs are getting changed at the same time as well.

the subaru uses buckets that have to be changed...not adjusted, which is a PITA.

i have feeler gauges.

i'm thinkin ebay coils cause i'm not gonna race it...i just wanna slam it. we both know the roads around here blow , but i know where the bad spots are. i'll go slow.

i want it to look slammed while maintaining as much quality geometry for the other components as possible.

i don't need 2500$ coilovers for a slammed look. from my subaru experiences lowering springs on struts don't quite get low enough.

i don't wanna waste 500$ on a set of coils from china that blow in 500 miles either.

reasonable price reasonable lifetime...performance not an issue. i am preparred for a stiff ride...i can get soft springs for the coils if necessary.

if you look under your drivers side wheel well you will see the opening for the crank pulley bolt that you will use to rotate the engine

and here is the download for the full service manual

http://www.2shared.com/document/zTgT...ice_manua.html

like i said, www.rockauto.com can get you all the parts you ever need for that car, i live right around deptford so if you see a black supercharged ls around, its me :p fudruckers in Washington twp has car meets every friday night, usually between 6-9, the ricers usually show up closer to 8-9ish.

check out ground controls then, they seem to be the common option around here

my name is rob, trying to get my hands on an engine management system this week so we can tune and then run it at atco on the weekend with my buddys GP, heres a vid i took yesterday for a friend online.

having alot of issues currently because it runs mostly rich, and leans out under certain throttle conditions, because i have nothing to modify the fuel maps with. You may notice, its also an automatic :p hoping to have the first 300hp supercharged automatic on here, its my DD as well.
