Icon2 bad whine while braking

it's almost an ear piercing whine while i'm braking. it only occurs when i'm braking between 55+ down to about 20 or 15. any ideas of what this could be? it's my daily and don't want to tear into it without knowing what's going on..

my car is a '94 civic sedan

Pad vibration or worn pads? If they are getting thin, put on new ones and put hi temp grease on the backing plates see if it goes away.
