94 civic brake trouble??? please advise
I replaced my rear brakes today (pads and rotors)... my driver side pads were worn the same with about 1/8th inch of pad left before the metal tab would touch, the passenger side outer pad was the same amount, but the passenger inner pad (the one with the tab) was worn half way thru the housing for the pad, no more pad.
I think something is hanging up on my driver side. im guessing the caliper is bad and thats why that pad wasnt worn down. but now it is staying hung up bc i can feel the slight resistance when i am driving, and the driver side is getting so hot that you can smell it burning BAD. I have been braking as easy as I can.. so it is either the line took a crap and is staying stuck with pressure, or the caliper has gone haywire.
one more note to help... I noticed on both sides the slider pins seemed to be frozen. could my problem be that simple? and if it is just the slider pins, can they be replaced, or taken apart and greased rather than replace the calipers. I ask b/c I don't really have the $100 for two new calipers. and I have to fix this today.

Okay, no need to reply. I took the brakes back apart to find that one slider on each rear claiper from froze and not moving. So i worked at it to get it lose until I could slide it out, cleaned it all up, put in some good heat resistant brake grease, re-assembled and they work wonderful. Thanks anyway honda-tech.
