There's a OEM rebuild kit, a you see the price is 199.
For a transmission with 0 miles on it after install.

or you could upgrade to a gsr ($800+), b16 ($800+) ($, type r tansmission. ($1500+)

or buy another ls transmission. ($500+)

*Used ebay as a rough price guide for the transmission prices.

(Buying another used transmission could end up having the same problem as you have now. common sense)

***When's the last time you changed your transmission fluid?

Cheaper to buy a new one if you dont know how to mess with trannies but theres no gurantee the new used tranny will hold up as well. If you rebuild it gurantee new and working.

i was thinking of getting a B16 with Lsd off of HMO for $800. but idk. id rather save the money. ive never changed it, and ive had the car since february, but i just drained it out yesterday. cause im taking the whole engine, and tranny out. it looked good still

dude do you buy anything from the streets??? check it out that "rebuild" kit for 2 bills doesnt come with synchros or slider hubs which are what bad in OP's tranny to begin with. so that wasted 2 bills is what would have bought his new tranny.

used tranny's on the streets especially ls cables go for 2 bills in perfect condition.

cable gsr and b16's go for 350-450

hydro ls trans -250
gsr hydro 400
b16 hydro 450-500 all perfect condition.

I replace all synchros and slider hubs and check to make sure all gears are good no burrs and I only sell them for 450. so I have no clue where you got your numbers from but you dont deal much on the street do you

You use the term "streets" like your really hard or something. No I do not buy my transmissions from the "streets" I told him where i got my prices from. Why you saying "bills" like your hard or something?

@98bucket my bad for the wrong information. I won't attempt to help. Sorry if I offended you, or mislead you to a bad source of information. Because e-gangsters on the "streets" with sell you trannys for just a few "bills" thrown at them.

Gl bro with buying/rebuilding your transmission. Whatever path you choose, I hope it works out for you.

I say streets because thats exactly where they come from and im a white guy who cant afford to buy from HMO or mfactory, so I learned to rebuild them instead of payin others to do my work for me.

and bills? whoo de ****in doo so I didnt use the proper termanology. its people like you that spend every ****in spare minute on the internet and read other peoples life experiences and when something similar happens to you in real life you remember the stories you read and try to relate to them.

OP just buy a ****in tranny on the streets, its your best bet. it will sost more than 200 to rebuild it, especially using that ebay rebuild kit that only consist of bearaings and seals

Depending on how long it has been since the fluid was changed, I would consider multiple fluid swaps before rebuilding / replacing the transmission. Change fluid, drive for 500 - 1,000 miles, change it again if the first change didn't help or made it worse (which can happen if it hasn't been changed in quite some time).

Worst case scenario, it doesn't help and you've paid for a couple quarts of transmission fluid. Best case, you get some more life from an old transmission.
