ignition timing way off help pls
okay i just installed a "mini me" engine but i actually had this same problem on my last engine (d15z1) using this same distributor but it wasnt this bad and i could get to 16 degrees by fully advancing the dizzy. on my new engine if its set about in the middle my ignition timing will be at at about 4 degrees. i grinded out the dizzy holes hand have it advanced as far as possible and its only at 12 degrees. i dont understand why it would be so far off.
i took a pic to show you how far i had to advance it remember this reads 12 degrees in this position
according to majestic honda d15z1 and d15z6 distributors share the same part number.
current build:
d15b7 bottom end
d16z6 head
dizzy off my d15z1

is the mechanical timing on for the z6 head which is gonna be lined up with the 7-8 oclock position instead of lining up the two marks with the head
tooth off - good call i got it fixed TYYYY
yeaah it was really confusing lining z6 head + the bottom crank kept turning when i try adjusting it
