ok i have a 92 prelude si with real jdm h22a swap my sychros went bad in my tranny si i bought a new tranny swapped everything over hooked up whole driver side with ease!!!! now the passenger side well lets go their.. i get he axle in tranny then put axle threw spindle nuckle and start tighting the axle nut but when i do this it pulls the three things in the axle sleeve into boot wich axle wont spin correctly . i bought brand new axle that was 1/4 inch longer and same problem when tighting axle nut pulllls axle and canct spin correctly. guys this is my daily driver and i really need help!!!!
is your trans bolted in all the way?? mounts and all? don't start tightening the axle nut until you have re-assembled the suspension completely, just let the axle rest in the trans and spindle. is your transmission a direct interchange? what trans is it?
its a 92 accord trans same tranny that was in their just new one with less miles it seems like axle is to short when i tighten the axle nut , could i need a prelude axle ?
well, I cross referenced the accord axles and the prelude axles.. and they dont interchange, not sure why but hollander says it won't work. it also says that the axles are different from 2.2 and 2.3, again I'm not sure why but they will not interchange. make sure you have the right axle for your chassis tho
The Accord could use a slightly shorter axle, so I would try out a Prelude axle in there. The only difference in any 4th gen Prelude axle would be if you went from a non-abs - to an abs equipped car, which will have the tone ring for the abs sensor.
