Default Cheap Chinese rotors

I've had nothing but bad luck with cheap chinese rotors purchased at a local carquest as their "Premium rotors" They seem to warp or get weird friction spots on them causing peddle pulsing and wheel shaking on hard braking. I've always bought good ceramic pads since economy pads seem to make the above issue happen even faster.

I'm going to be ripping into the front end of my 1990 accord to change a bunch of crappy parts I put on the car and now regret it. I'm going all moog with some AUP axles (The only new I could find and afford $200 cdn to my door) I haven't seen good or bad reviews on them though.

My question is do I go with the 18 dollar rotors again and have them warp or have friction spots in a month or do I pay more and get some good rotors? Should I go slotted or drilled? any particular brand? Can I re use my still good ceramic pads? I'm especially wanted really good rotors because of the amount of work that is required to do an accord brake job...

Please respond to and or all of the above any opinion or information is welcome

Cheers
Eric

18 dollar rotors... theres your problem lol. i always like drilled for some reason and you could go with some nice brembos and yes you can reuse ur pads.

I'm making up a big order on rock auto as we speak they do offer brembo's for 69 bucks, are they worth it? Are they north american made?

I'm between these

high end (rock auto)
CENTRIC Part # 12640022CSR More Information About this Part Power Slot - Cryogenically Treated Rotor - Slotted $90.79

middle road (rock auto)
BREMBO Part # 09580410 More Information About this Part {#25398, GBD90837}
Front; To 3.93 $68.79

Cheapo's (rock auto)
RAYBESTOS Part # 96111R More Information About this Part Professional Grade; Outside Diameter 10.215" / 4 Bolt Holes $18.72

just wanna know if it's WORTH it to go high end...... I'm sick of crap parts so if it's worth it the factory honda rotors lasted almost 20 years and over 100000km's

Just get Brembo blank rotors or the Centric Premium (non-cyro)

I've used both and have had no issues.

Well the shipping from rock auto comes from a different location and kills the deal for me. Anywhere else I should order blank brembo's from?

And since you are there, make sure the calipers are not binding/sticking and causing the issue more that the rotor.

Avoid what you bought prior. Cheap Chinese cast iron is not the correct grey cast iron needed for use as a braking surface. IIRC you can tell the difference in rotor/drum quality by how the rotor 'rings' Cheap will ring like a bell while proper grey will have a 'dead' ring.

Drilled is a farce. Don't bother, if anything you are hindering brake performance by removing swept area from your rotors. Slotted, meh I don't think they offer any advantage either. If anything these two 'performance' rotors will only increase the possibility of rotor cracking.

Honda, Brembos or any other quality brand, Bendix, Wagner etc.

If the pads are not overly worn and are still square, I would reuse the pads. You only have to worry about pad material if the pads are being changed to a different compund. Then it would be best to machine, or carefully bed in the new pad material.

This is another reason why I would avoid cheap rotors and the 'mAd tIgHT y0!' blingtastic rotors that are drilled. You may also want to be sure with the hub over style of the Accord, that the pad material is not too aggressive and eats the rotors.

I ordered the Brembo blanks from tire rack

As for the pads on my car they're a raybestos ceramic with 10000kms on them about 2 oil changes are they aggressive material? Should I go with a different pad or compound? I know they were one of the more pricey pads from rock auto.
