01 honda civic transmission swap cost
Are you doing the labor yourself?
Heres a parts list for the swap posted by, 2002civicrider. The least expensive way to do the swap would likely be to find someone parting out a manual in your area, Ive seen 7th gens being parted out a few times on Craigslist.
Trans
Manual Subframe
Trans Mounts
Shifter
Shift Linkage
Master Cylinder
Manual Axles (You only need the drivers side)
Slave Cylinder
Pedal Assembly
Starter
Clutch
Flywheel
Manual Center Console (Or just the shifter bezel piece)
Not needed but nice to have:
Manual ECU
Manual Cluster
Manual Dash Harness

a garage will probably charge a lot (my guesstimate would be $2000-$3000), especially if they're not used to doing this kind of thing all the time...
when/if my tranny dies, i'll probably buy another s2k as a daily driver while i slowly do the auto to manual swap....
as for parts, i'd probably get an entire crashed civic from an insurance auction...that way i'd have all the parts and i'd also be able to recoup a lot of the costs by selling off spare parts...

If you are doing the swap yourself, go for it, but if not just sell your auto and buy a manual. If it was me, even if I have a lift and the tools, I will not waste my time on this swap. Just my opinion.
I got a quote of $1200 for labor from a shop in Canada for the swap.
Unless you've already put a lot of money in the car I would just sell and buy a manual. Since manuals are worth less than autos used, you'd prob end up with some cash in your pocket instead of spending $2k plus on a swap.
