Idle at +2500 - cleaning IACV and FITV did not help
so i have gone through everything that controls idling and now i am wondering if its either my stock tps or my iacv? i have pulled the iacv off and cleaned it and also the thing under the throttle body. ive have read maybe my tps is bad, but i am thinking of drilling it off and trying to readjust it since its from 94 anyways?? should i do this? also i cant find anywhere that sells iacv less than almost 200 bucks..im goin nuts here cuz im stuck with an idle at 2500+ and cant even drive it right now
If you cover the top of the throttle body with your hand and the engine does not die, then you have a major vacuum or intake air leak.

ya it died that **** hurt puttin may hand on there haha..but i just read theres the 2 lil holes in there also...the top one i put my finger on and my car dropped down rpms like crazzyyy, so that means bad iacv huh??
What year and specific engine? What's the set up?
Does the hole/port lead to the IACV or the FITV?
What happens to the idle if you unplug the IACV?
Any CEL codes?

94 del sol b16, the hole i covered goes to the iacv, when i unplug it it drops, but i read its supposed to go higher? ya theres a check engine code, but idk how to read it?
ok i found them i have 6 and 7..also i had 14..then i reset it by unplugging the battery...now i only have 6 and 7 and still idling like crazyyy
ya theres a check engine code, but idk how to read it?
Code 6 (ECT sensor) and 7 (TPS) are common causes for idle problems. Focus on fixing both codes. Make sure they are plugged in and their connectors are not accidentally swapped to other sensors.
can u tell me where the water coolant temp sensor is?? i still have the stock tps so maybe it went bad? or needs to be drilled off and tuned again?
It's the 2-wire sensor below the distributor.
Measure the output voltages at closed (~0.5V) and wide open (~4.5V) throttle to make sure it is properly calibrated.
And double check for swapped sensor connectors.

yes ive done a tps before thank you! ya the ect, i actually just got a pigtail for it today, do u know if the red goes on the left or right side of the plug? the green plug correct??
hold on wait, what are u asking me..my map sensor colors i have are yellow w red stripe...green w white stripe..and white...and the tps colors are green red and yellow
i just checked my codes again i unplugged everything and put them back on and now i only have #6?? coolant sensor, would that make my idle go crazy? im still thinking tps or iacv?

Yel/Red, Grn/Blu, Wht
TPS should be:
Red/Blu, Yel/Wht, Grn/Wht

And yes, a faulty ECT can cause the idle problem you are having. Stay focused on the ECT sensor, as well as the TPS if code 7 pops up again.
Is the ECT sensor connected to its plug? If so, bring the engine to operating temperature, turn the ignition switch off, unplug ECT sensor, and then measure resistance across the two sensor terminals. It should read 200-400 Ohms.
ya its a single wire correct..its green w white stripe i think? or is it a 2wire?? if it is the 2wire, what is the single wire one down at the bottom??

im guessing the coolant temp guage in this pic right? well i only have 1 wire how do i measure ohms on 1 lead??
