Default Mixed up throttle body?

Ive been trying all day to figure out wether this throttle body came with this motor or not. The motor is a b16a and the intake manifold is a p30 (Im pretty sure at least) but all the pictures ive seen of other p30 manifolds dont show the same throttle body as mine. The old motor was the b18a1 and all the throttle bodys for that motor look like the one I have on my b16. That makes me think that the throttle body I have was originally from the b18a1, and the guy before me just put it on during the swap. Any help???? Thanks

(The thing in the circle is what makes it look like the b18 throttle body not the b16.)

(Old Motor - Looks like the same throttle body to me...)

Well thats weak...Thanks though man. Is there any point in getting a b16 tb, or should I just leave it how it is?

If it runs right just leave it for now. No need to waste money

It runs fine. Whats weird though is the hose coming off that emissions thing runs to my charcoal canister on the b16 but it runs to the intake pipe on my b18, which doesnt make sence since the tb is the same.

That's a idle valve you can eliminate it completly.

There is no difference between the size of a b16/b18 throttle body except for the Type R so no need to worry about it

If you gave that guy the swap with a tb id never go to him again, he probly kept your b16a one thinking it was somethin special, he not only shiesty but dumb for thinkin it was different

Id also make sure your block really says b16a if u haven't already. B16a's are JDM, you have a USDM valve cover

Edit: didn't see your last post, id never go to that guy again for work if he can't re run vacuum lines he shouldn't be working on a honda

Alright well idk exactly how to take that idle valve off but i'll figure it out today. I bought the car with the b16a in it (and yes the block does say b16a). The picture of the old motor was taken by the guy who owned the car before me. So yeah I never went to him for the swap, he had done it before I bought the car. Everything about the swap is good except for the tb. Thats why people kept getting confused when I said its an sir2 because they saw that idle valve and said "no it has that so its an sir1". But yes like you said he should of gotten the right tb with the motor when he bought it in the first place, and the tranny doesnt have a tag on it either...which kinda sucks.

Ahh I see
To take the valve off there's a couple bolt or screws and just plug the vacuum
Tranny has a stamp on the pas side around where the axle goes in

I got it all taken care of man. Thanks for the info. It still blows my mind why somone would hook that valve up to the charcoal canister...how stupid. I did find a sticker on the tranny down by the mount (under layers of grease and dirt) its an s4c. Thanks again.

I just found this chart for throttle body sizes
http://hondaswap.com/reference-mater...e-chart-29095/

It says the b18a1 is 58mm and the b16a sir2 is 60mm
the one I have on my sir2 is the ls 58mm one. Would it make any difference to upgrade to a 60mm one wether it be oem or aftermarket like blox or s2?
The reason im asking this is beacuse I have the extra cash to do it, so is it worth doing. thanks

you can probaly find somebody to port your tb and port match it to your intake for the price of a aftermarket one
