Default Replaced ISB, now now 1st,2nd,5th, or Reverse

So I removed the tranny on my 93 civic and opened the housing (which was intensely nerve racking for me because ive never done it before) and replaced the input shaft bearing and seal. Put it all back together and put back in car and now tranny runs horribly. It seems to me like I can only get 3rd and 4th gear. Any thoughts? I obviously did something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I did a LOT of research before doing the ISB. I didnt just wing it. However, I obviously didnt do enough.

pull the cases apart again and check the shift change assembly.

I am having similar problems with my 2000 si. first reverse would not go in, then I could only use third and fourth. Does it seem to be jamming and not letting you go into gear, like are you able to shift into the right slot for the gear?

I would try disconecting the linkage underneath the car and see if you can put it into gear by hand. If you can I would then assume there is a problem from that point and back. check to see if the linkage is catching on the exhaust.

I will keep you posted on my finds. please do the same

IGB wasn't lined up with the shift assembly. Shift assembly likely needs to be replaced.

How much would a new shift assembly run? Mine does feel like it goes into gear at the shifter it just wont go into gear at the transmission. I pulled the transmission out again last night so what should I be looking for? What does the shift assembly look like and what should i not do wrong this time? Thanks!

I assumed it's a D series as you didn't say otherwise. Let me know what trans it is and I'll help you out.

Remove the IGB and look through the hole at the shift assembly. If it is dented, split the case, pull the stacks/forks/diff out, pull the short shift rod out, and replace the shift assembly (the piece that toggles the forks).
