I got a 2004 Accord 4dr DX and the radio and some of the interior lights flicker aka gear shirt light. I checked all fuses and they are fine i also disconnected the battery wth no luck. Any known problums like this with this model?

 

does the radio turn on and off? or does it just flicker? best bet is to pull the radio out and see if the power wire (yellow i think... depends on the type of radio) is in fine shape, i.e. connected securely, not melted and near another melted wire...

 

the radio does not flicker, the backlight is lit, without the clock or radio information. The CD that is inside will not come out after pressing the eject button. All other buttons i.e climate control work properly.

 

the radio receives different power from climate control and all that, whats you instrument panel look like? would it be hard to remove the radio?

 

Yeah it would be quite a pain to remove it but im looking at this as more of a total electrical problum not just the radio. I mean the only other thing is the gear shift light but the when you roll up the windows at night the headlights dim and i didnt think that there was a grounding problum with this generation. Everything on this car is stock oem no external accessories.

 

im not too familiar with accords, but is the gear shift light in the dash? or are you talking about an auto where the light is under prnd321? and if you do think its all related, check the grounds

 

Its an auto with the light underneath prnd321. I havent heard of a grounding problum on this generation but if so how am i able to check for a grounding issue?

 

the ground is the '-' terminal of the battery along with the connection to the chassis of the car, just check the connections

 

I checked the grounding and everything is fine. I am now at a loss for what it could be.

 

try a new thread in the audio/security forum, there are lots of electrical guys in there and they might know

 

Regarding the CD that does not eject, when I had the problem, the dealer took out the CD-RADIO unit and put in a new one. One disc is stuck partially where the teeth don't release it. My music disks were returned in 10 weeks in compensation from HONDA.
