Do i need a manual Y8 intake manifold when converting to 5 speed?
Im collecting parts to convert my auto 98 civic ex to 5 speed. After reading the faqs on this swap im not really sure if I need a manual Y8 manifold. I understand that I will have to get a manual throttle body but im not sure if I need the intake manifold. If I do need it, why? Is there anyway that I would be able to get the auto one to work? Or can I just keep using the one I have?
At the very least you will have to drill out the mounting holes for the IACV as get a manual IACV. Its easier to just get a 5 speed IM though (try to get one from a '96 - '98, '99 - '00 are a little different)
^ Thanks. I picked up a manual manifold. It should be good to go once i add an IACV and swap the injectors and fuel rail and everything else over, correct?
