Default HPDE Rain Tires - Roebling

Current Weather Forcast

Looks like rain. My tire choices are half-worn Azenis, or brand new A032's. I've been saving the Yoko's for later, but I'm wondering if this might be the time to use them. I know neither is ideal, but these are my choices... I'd rather not try to get both sets down there, but it might be possible.

Any thoughts?

Yoko A032R tires in full tread depth are good rain tires. I have driven them at Mid Ohio in a combination rain/snow storm, and they worked very well.

have fun out there! you will learn alot driving in the rain, too.

I'll be on brandy-new Azenis. My choices are brand new Azenis, or Azenis with 3 autocrossed on them.

Matt-who thinks Azenis are kick-*** tires for not much $$$

Buying the Advan's at all was a mistake. As a result, I went out and bought a second set of wheels w/ Azenis to start out on. But... since I've got them, they'll be used eventually.

A032Rs are your best rain tire, and if properly worn, will work well in the dry too.

I think that the Toyo Ra1 full tread is a great rain tire. Hope it dries out for some fast laps this weekend.

Duane, this may be the first event we've driven together... you can stop by and see your old car...

God help all of us in the instructor group. I am officially claiming a ridealong. And I will skip a session to get one.

Duane is an awfully good driver. I'm STILL not sure I comprehend how to get around Oak Tree [VIR] that well. It all seemed so simple from the right seat...

--Rice, who still has a LOT to learn...

Wow... nothing that's gonna keep up with you, that's for sure... of course, the driver is still the slowest thing about my car.

I'm running a GSR swap w/quaife for the forseeable future.

I'll be on bald Hoosier take-offs or bald A032s

Anyone want to loan me some rain tires?

I get to bum rides this weekend, so if anyone is bored, or wants to see someone else having fun this weekend, you know where to find me!

Yeah, right.

Maybe it won't be an issue after all...

The forcast is down to 20 and 30% rain.

Dude! Stop watching the Weather Channel! That **** will rot your brain! Wait until the day before you leave to decide whether to bring an umbrella. My wife was threatening to divorce me when I was an "Addict". Go cold turkey, it's the only was to quit

Mike <-- who has spent the week before events being paranoid about weather in the past, only to have beautiful weather all weekend. And vice versa.

Use whatever is mounted. I've run in the wet on used up Kumhos. Sure, you'll slide all over the place and braking is non-existant but you'll have fun and learn a ton about car control.
