Default B16+ Pro 1's+ 24* BTDC=p2V contact

So I am starting to degree my Pro 1 cams in my B16. When i go to start the cam opening at 24* BTDC and 50 thousands lift I have P2V contact. What is it that I am doing wrong? It is fully built with 11.5 comp pistons, ported head, seats, Supertech VT and the rockers locked. All of this I have assembled myself but degreeing these cams are kicking my ***! I am open to any suggestions!

Thank you Honda tech!

Try to adjust the cams aiming for the maximum lift point instead of the opening/closing points.

Do you have to head gasket mounted?

Use clay to see if the valve is hitting the valve pocket (relief) like it should.

So when you have everything at top dead centre, everything lines up correctly? After that, you're saying that the valves hit the pistons with VTEC locked and you're rotating the engine?

0.050" = 1mm

You have piston to valve contact with 1mm of valve lift?? I'm pretty sure that the piston valve reliefs are deeper than 1mm.

Are you sure you have the right pistons?

Something is WAY off if he's hitting pistons with those cams. I'm thinking the motor and cam timing are completely wrong. That's why I was asking him to line everything up first and then rotate.

Something is definitely off here. I had miles of clearance with my bc3+ and pct's that were 0.020" above deck.

Sorry guys I got the problem fixed. What was happening is the tentioner was bad and the belt would loosen and kept jumping a tooth when the over lap cycle was happening. So that problem was fixed. Thank you for all your help! Cams are degree'd in! Thank you HT
