is it possible to put a d16a1 intake manifold onto a d16z6 or y8 head?

 

hate to reply to my own thread ..... but it's a BIG NO for all who are wondering. LOL!! I know I must be breaking some retarded rule out there but next time I'll do more research then being lazy.

 

custom adaptor would be the way. they make one to put a d16 single cam mani onto a
d16a1/dohc zc

 

I'm wondering for the use of a a1 manifold on a d16y8 head. the a1 manifold looks a lot better then any other d series manifold I've seen yet.

 

Unless you can weld or have a mill, better to just get an Edelbrock or Skunk2 IM. If you use the A1 manifold, you're stuck with the A1 TB.

 

would have to be a custom job.. if you make an adapter for the d16a1 mani to fit, it has the same bolt pattern as the obd1 dohc zc manifold (rare), so you can use any obd1-2 throttle body.. again.. custom adapter or welding skills

 

thanks guys that answers alot. i seen the new edelbrock and seen the a1 they look real simular, good designs die hard i guess.
