Popping noise when depressing brake pedal?
I have a 94 Civic EX without ABS and for about the last week when I use the brakes there is weird popping noise coming from the driver's side brakes. It happens immediately after I touch the pedal. It happens even when the car is stopped so it's not the axle/cv joint. And everything feels the same; no pulling or anything like that. Has anybody had this problem or have any idea what it could be? Thanks.
could it be your shocks? my gurlfriends car makes a popping noise, but it comes from the back, but its everytime she hits the brake too, and its the shock.

i got the same problem too! Almost everytime i hit my brakes it makes a hard clicking noise, like a pin or something is snapping into place. Any ideas??
My car has stock suspension and brakes, and it happens when I'm stopped too so it can't be my suspension. It keeps popping when I push the pedal lightly and am moving slowly. I don't know if it happens at higher speeds because I can't hear it over the engine. It's also easier to hear from inside the car because the engine drowns it out outside the car.
it might be that there is to much play in between the brake pad and caliper
you could get some grease and grase where ever the pad make metal to metal contact grease the end of the piston (where it makes contack with the pad)
good luck

It's manual. I'll try the brake grease in the morning. I'll do some more listening and see if I can be more descriptive. Thanks.

i have a click sound that comes from my front discs whenever i put it in reverse and step on the brakes the very first time while going in reverse. one of my friends said the brake pads may be loose. i dunno, but check your pads and rotors.
