Idle Problem b18b did many things
okay i have a 97 JDM b18B turbo with Hondata s300 in 97 EK
When I first got the car the owner told me the iacv was dirty so it was turned off with the hondata.
when I first got the car, on a cold start I would have to manually gas the car after its cranked for about 20-30 seconds or else the car would just stall. It would idle around 100 rpm and the idle becomes more normal after the car warms up.
I took apart the throttlebody and iacv to clean it, along with adjust the idle screw.
My Idle is definatly alot better, when its warm i idle pretty normal for the most part around 800. The only thing still is when I crank the car when its cold I still have to give it gas for about 10 seconds and the is around 100-200 rpm but raises up alot quicker than when everything was dirty.
Also one other thing is When I'm idling around 900 and I turn on the headlights and heater my idle drops down, I remember reading in the manual that the idle is suppose to go up?
what did I do wrong? the only thing I messed with was the TPS sensor I accidently took it out to clean, so I had to calibrate it back onto the throttlebody. Or could it be the IACV??

It sounds like the ECU is not signaling the IACV to bypass more air to the IM or the ECU is signaling the IACV but it is unable to respond to the signals.
Check whether the IACV gets battery voltage on its power wire from the main relay and whether grounding the IACV ground wire makes the IACV click.

Okay so I checked if the IACV gets battery voltage from the 2p connector on the Iacv, I unplugged it and checked the voltage it was around 14 v.
I don't know how to check it from the the main relay, nor do I know how to ground the iacv ground wire.
When I unplugged the IACV and started the car, no Check engine light came on.
and it runs very similar to when its plugged in.
I'm thinking I have to go to a tuning shop to have it turned back on. not sure though ...
