Default d16y7 header replacement

my friend has a 00 LX, and his exhaust manifold is cracked, so he wants to change it out. I searched the forums, but did not get a definite answer. I am planning on just getting a cheap ebay header for a ex, some posts said all I need is the header, and either a ex or aftermarket cat, and some say I will need the header, cat, and another portion of the exhaust from an ex??? which one is it? hopefully someone who has actually done this can give me the right answer
thanks

U need the ex header, ex cat, and the shorter ex b pipe which is the long exhaust pipe before the rear muffler.

Exactly what was just said. I already checked this out for my wifes 99 Civic LX, since her cat was garbage, but ended up just replacing the D16Y7 cat.

i have a 96 sol with the y7 i replaced the manifold with DNA motoring headers has an O2 bung up top and right in front of the donut gasket im running no cat all i did was re-wire the sensor and sheilded it for heat reasons and put it on my fuel ratio gauge still reads the same on the highway and a hair more rich in town but have not had a single problem actually had a noticable power gain.

I think you also need the EX bracket to mount it behind the engine.
