So its a kinda hit or miss problem. Instead of revving to almost 9k, my d16y8 is only revving to 6k before it acts like its hitting redline. But then someimtes, it will rev all the way to the normal redline. What could the problem be?

nevermind, i forgot to add that it has an si cluster in it, so im not sure what its revving to lol...but vtec feels like its pulling then it feels like im hitting redline

 

if it's an si cluster and not just overlays then the redline is still going to be 7200 rpm as indicated.. so is it hitting 7200 then or is it less?

 

Is less, more like 5900-6000. Someone said it could be the icm or the vtec oil sending unit?
