Default What Mode are you?

Hi everyone, just thinking out loud on how you drive your CR-Z?

Do you use a specific Mode or do you just use Normal?

What are trying to get better performance or mpg?

I find that most of the time Eco is good enough "to get there". But when I want a quick boost I hit Sport, because I enjoy the way the entire little car changes with a click.

I had an 85 Si's. Nice memories. The way it held the road and the shifter were my favorites. Till my new CR-Z in Sport mode.

Check out the link for a nice write up.

theres not, honda put it there on accident, but by the time they realized it, They had already shipped cars out to be sold so they just let the mistake slide.

Honda should of just went ahead and put an actual throttle controller on it with varying degrees of each mode. That is all the modes are, but with just 1 setting each. Exactly zero difference in power output between the modes, the econ just rolls back the throttle by a good margin, step hard on the accelerator and the car will go just as it is in sport mode at a certain point in throttle %.

My Fit reacts the same way, the SP7 setting ramps up the throttle and definitely makes the car feel more alive with very little throttle input and feels like it is stuck in quick-sand on EC5. For me I actually get better FE with the controller in Sport settings as the car gets up to speed much quicker and I can coast and maintain speed easier.

Still kind of wish I would have waited 2 more months instead of buying the GE8, but the $8000 difference on top of the $22400 I paid for the Fit was just a bit too much for not much car. Especially when I look back in 2003 I paid only $24000 for my old DC5R Integra. We might as well just start being paid in Yuan instead of the worthless $hit we get now.

I'm usually on ECO on a daily basis, and Sport if someone pisses me off. Let me introduce you to Hemingway.

Theres acually alot more that happens when the car is put in the different modes. For example the electronicly assisted rack and pinion has mutiple ratio's that change from mode to mode. You will notice that the steering significanly tightens and becomes more responsive when in sport mode.
