whats better b16 or b18
the search function is pretty useless on this site.. but he should have checked the FAQ section. Near the bottom there are 3 or 4 discussions about which is engine is better.. considering he only has 3 posts, i doubt we'll hear from him again.
B16A2, IMHO.
Only problem is, they're hard as hell to find!
You'll probably have to settle for a B18...
- 160 HP
- 4.40 Final Drive (fun to drive)
- 0-60 in 7 Seconds (hauls ***)
- VTEC redlines @ 8200 RPM (conservatively)
- 40+ MPG (if you can keep your foot out of it)
Only problem is, they're hard as hell to find!

but anyways... i just finished my b18c1 swap in my ej6, gotta say i love it. i then drove my buddies em1 with a b16 for the first time, im gonna say i like my c1. but price is something that you gotta consider...nothing wrong with a b16a though, a little less sought out than say the b18c1s, b16b's, b18c5's

steer clear of b16 please. the stroke is too short, no torque at all. its all about the 1.8 or 2.0
look into getting a b20 at least or even an ls if you got little cash. then work your way to ls/b20 vtec

i LOL everytime i hear/see someone say "for get b16s, go with a ls/b20, then go lsv/b20v later." i mean seriously, ill take my lil b16 over a ls/b20 anyday, especially when you want to add vtec and then look for a b16 head. its just dumb all the way around. ls/b20 came with shitty transmissions and most people looking to upgrade their trans look for what...b16 right?...right.
