--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. D16Y7 in a ex. bought that way i think the previse owner wanted the stock v-tec. fine by me just a daily driver and wouldnt use it much.
2. can any one tell me if there is a swap kit or were a diff mani can be installed on a D16 cas honesty i dont like the TB pointin stright up. would rather have a horazontal TB.
3. on the exhaust mani the kat and mani r one peace. im wantin to put a skunk2 or DC sports header on (along with cold air) to help the motor breathe. is there anything i can do??? im not shure how 2move the Co2 senecors. is there a aftermarket kit?
4. i plain on a complete motor rebuild. would i be able to put forged piston and rods in with out goin overbord. wat im tryin to say is that i want to P&P new pistons, rods mayb a balenced crank. can someone please point me in the right direction on how to go about it. im used to V8's and carbs. this is my first time wantin to mess with a honda.

as far as the manifolds go, you can look at it like a Y8 (original VTEC motor for that car) without the VTEC mechanism. meaning you can swap both intake and exhaust manifolds from a Y8. i think there have been some write ups on this somewhere, maybe with pics.
there aren't many guys on here admitting to running a built Y7. the majority will tell you to boost it or swap for a twin cam motor. i'll spare you my opinion on that, but take a look here for some guys with tons of single cam experience. (click the top search result)

OEM EX coupe manifold, downpipe, catalytic converter and intermediate pipe will all bolt up perfectly, feel free to substitute some or all of these components for aftermarket parts for the same car. If the car was an EX and the previous owner left the harness in it you wont have any trouble with O2 sensor wiring, if they used a Y7 harness or cut up the Y8 harness you will have to extend the wiring for the secondary O2 sensor.
haha. point made.
on the real, don't even change the intake manifold, just turbo it, and put some EX injectors in it, oh yeah also use a Ex (D16Y8) transmission. Fun little set up, definitely cheaper then a b swap.
thanks guys i will keep all in mind. i think in harness was swaped also so i will have to extend the secoundary O2 sen. im not gona do to much to this civic cas its main use is a daily driver, i just want to put a few things in to make it run better than it is now. and puttin a auto mani on willnt matter that its 5 speed will it?

The whole reason you use an automatic Y8 manifold is because of the IACV. Automatic Y8s and all Y7s use a 3 wire IACV thats part of the throttlebody. 5 speed Y8s have a 2 wire linear IACV on the back of the manifold itself.
