my record so far! :O
had stock block jdm itr motor in my del sol, few bolt ons and skunk stg2 tuner cams and power fc, had a head on collision with an audi a6, (ouch) so reshelled it into an eg,
ok so enough bout that, it eventually spun a big end after much abuse so i decided to build it,
JE 12.2:1 pistons, eagle rods, eagle crank, acl race bearings!
head had some kms valve springs and crower 63402 cams and along with some other bolt ons and stuff,
it ran great for a long while but after doing some work one night and i was tired and not paying attention, i timed the ****er up wrong, was ok off vtec, came on vtec and.... tick, tick, tick boom!!
snapped valves off in the head ruining the head, bore and left holes in the piston! not nice, my own fault i know but the story continues!!
ordered a new piston and got a block, put it all together and went for it again, no sooner had i done 1000 miles something was up, the clutch pedal started to stop coming back up and wasnt working properly!!
shortly after the motor locked up solid, i felt like crying, ha, after stripping it down it was clear what had happened, i had ****ed up again from not paying attention i had fitted the thrust washers in backwards, they quite obviously wore away very quickly and they simply fell out and locked the crank solid,
damage from this **** up? ruined eagle crank and ruined block!
but try and try again is what i do so.........
got another block, got a stock crank and went again, i forgot to add that after i timed it up wrong i got a set of kms valves for the head too,
which leads me to "what happened next".........
all back together again and running sweet, decided to go for a run,
flat in 4th and went to pull 5th, on the gear change it hit the flat shifting limiter of 6k rpm, let out the clutch in 5th and it sounded anything but good!
head broke clean off one of my intake valves, rattled around the cylinder, broke and exhaust valve and maimed the piston, bore and head!
so what did i do then?? :O went AGAIN!!!!!!
got ANOTHER head and got a port/polish job done, 4 new kms vales to replace the mangled ones, got the block bored out to 82mm and ordered up a nice shiney set of wiseco 12.5:1 pistons! :D
its been together now for the last couple of weeks and going great so i ask everyone to wish me luck and say a prayer this time as im sick of spendin so much money!
might i add that each time its been running its ran like a champ and kicked ***!!
