Potential Swap for my EK
I have a 99 EK and I think I'm going to start my build this fall, but I have a couple of questions. First let me say that my friends are telling me different things, so I figured I'd ask you guys. Here are the two options I'm leaning towards...B20vtec or a B18c. There are different options for each setup...here they go:
- For the B20v it was suggested I get a B20b block, with a b16 head, and b16 tranny
- For the B18c I was suggested to get a B18c short block and a ls trans
- For whatever build...it would get a precision 6262, then pistons/rods, then sleeved.
My end goal is to eventually run the car down the 1/4 and as I'm fairly new to building a honda...I'm not sure what route to go/would be the better of the two. I know the B20 build would be cheaper and bigger, but are the walls to thin for boost? Would I rather have the b16 tranny to keep the boost up down the track or have the ls trans for the longer gears? Please let me know your opinions and feel free to ask questions. Thanks a lot.
