99 civic with vibrating transmission in 1st gear
hi everyone
just developed a problem with my transmission having this horrible vibration when i take off. it vebrates badly and shakes the whole car, then as she gets a bit of speed up she evens out and changes gear. Very strange. If i start in 2 on the shifter i dont have the problem
my friend says its a sensor gone bad, but me thinks i may need to save up and replacer the tranny
can anyone tell me what problem i might be having here?
thanks

engine/tranny type? vehicle? mods of any kind on the vehicle? give us as much info as you can so everyone can help you out.
But I'm not that great at this stuff yet so you won't get much from me.

i actually topped off the tranny this morning with atf and drove it from cold and it was fine for about 20 minutes... then it went back to the same old judder and shake when taking off....
is that something to do with the oil loosing viscosity as it gets warm? or maybe there is the wrong atf in there to begin with?

You remove about 2/3 of the ATF when you drain the transmission because 1/3 remains in the torque converter. What type of ATF was in the transmission and what did you add? It's important to use the correct ATF. Based on the fact that there was a temporary improvement after one drain and refill, repeating this a couple more times is worth a try before considering other possibilities. Just drive around the block between each drain and refill.

i noticed that when the car is doing the shaking thing you have to rev the car up to about 1500 revs before the car catches bite and drives, then it does the vibrating thing in 1st gear before it changes up. then it drives like normal for the rest of the gears. Currently Im dropping the car down on the shifter to 2 when starting off, then changing up to D4 when the car is moving. she seems to work fine like this. very odd
no cel codes. the cel works.
i noticed there are 4 sensors on the tranny 2 on top and 2 underneath near the drains plug. The 2 underneath ones have wires taped and joined, looked to be a little burned. could these be causing any problems?

i noticed the oil check stick is very loose when i fit it back in.
could this be causing the problem?
i mean is the transmission pressurized like a radiator ?
or does it make no difference?
