Default Cheap/Quality Sound system

Hey guys,

I am an audio n00b. At the moment I have an Alpine MP3 Player in my car, and I would like to get some nice speakers and a sub. I am not looking to spend too much money, but I do want something that isn't crap. Give me you setup suggestions. Thanks!

Chris

Hmm cheap, but good quality...isnt that an oxymoron?
Anyway...since you didnt list the model # here is an idea:

Front doors a quality 6.5 coaxial
sub single 10 or 12" sealed or vented enclosure
4 channel name brand amp 40-60 watts per channel

amp runs front doors and bridged to run sub...radio powers rear spkrs for fill...its a great starting point...

remove the 6x9 coaxials...
in place of 2 10" sub woofers...

For the front of an ITR: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pi...9,1690,00.html

For the rear of an ITR:

These are what I have and they sound really nice as for the listed prices- DO NOT PAY THAT MUCH! find a store that discounts alot! If your near Canal st in NYC go to "uncle steve's" close to half price

hmm... werent you concerned a while back about how much the radio ways and how you thought you were gonna take it out? Or was that someone else.... IMO a deck is all you might need, especially in a type-r

AudioRoach said it best.

I would presonally recommend the Infinity Reference series as an excellent speaker in the price vs performance catagory.

For the rear a bass tube or single 10" or even 8" would be good depending on the sound you want, space, and weight.

for the price of those premiers, even at half price...I'd still get infinity Kappas ($169 ish for the 6 1/2" Coaxs) and if you want any bass at all, get a single 12 in a proper box and a decent amp (just say no to sony...take a look at MTX, JBL, Rockford, and anything else your budget will allow, its easier to just pop in extra subs/speakers if you buy the right amp the first time around.)
