Have you noticed your CRV igition timing?
So while I was checking out this 98 crv back in January that my gf ended up purchasing, I noticed that the igition timing was cranked all the way toward the front of the car (retarded?). I thought it was abnormal because every Honda I've seen from the factory is always about right in the middle. So when I changed the timing belt, water pump, plugs, valve cover gaskets, valve adjustment etc, I decided to put it more in the middle. I don't have a timing light so it was just a guess but the car seemed to run fine. I also noticed a few other 1 gen CRV's with the distributor crank foward like her's was. So lately her trans is starting to slip a little on hot days but also she's been complaining the car feels sluggish & slow. It may have something to do with that but I figured I'd check the plugs/cap/rotor etc. I'm not knowledgable when it comes to reading plugs but for the little I know, are these looking lean? Could be timing related? I'm thinking about putting the timing back to where it was. Here are some pics of the plugs. Sorry, my camera sucks.

Changed around January or Feb. Maybe around 10k on them. NGK Vpower
Anyone else notice their distributor on their 1st gen crv like this?
