2nd and 3rd gear hard to get in only tires are spinning
sup .. not sure which forum this should go in but ive been having some troubles shifting with this setup ..
- the tranny has fresh gearspeed synchros and shifts fine normally
- at the drag strip ( or on the street ) , if i let the tires spin to gain a little speed before shifting, it wont go into the next gear ( as if it hits a wall ) , then if i let the rpms drop just a little , it works fine ..
- this happens with 1st going into 2nd, and 2nd going into 3rd because thats when the car burns out ( its fine 3rd going into 4th because the tires hook by the end of 3rd )
any suggestions on whats wrong or what to check ?

The exact same thing is happening to me right now, going from first to second and sometimes third to fourth. Ive had my transmission rebuilt with stronger parts, so its not that. I do have a "EGAY" single bend short throw shifter and I believe that is the main problem. Iam going to be switching it out for a GSR dual bend shifter and hope that it works.
its a competition stage 5 unsprung clutch
- thanks for the pic .. i ll definately get that checked out
- i was hoping i wasnt the only one with this problem but im not sure what else to check .. guess ill have to open up the tranny again
after reading alot of older threads here, ive found people with similiar problems but not exactly the same .. and their solutions have been adjusting the clutch pedal , change the shift linkage bushings , ... ill keep this thread updated if i ever figure it out

Its either you're shifting too quick before the clutch disengages or there is too little speed differential between the synchros and the gear it goes into.
