Air compressor locked and broke belt
Is it was a day-old compressor belt too.
My question: now that there is no belt on there, is it ok to drive around safely? Should I unhook anything else from the compressor? I'm just wondering if the air is still going through there anyhow, and if any fine debris from whatever broke could possibly be coming into the car for me to breathe etc.
Thanks

Air compressor belt? you mean power steering? if its powersteering then its fine to drive with no belt, you just wont have p/s. Or if you mean A/C belt then you just wont have A/C. Nothing harmful.
If your A/C belt is already snapped/ripped off then you don't need to do anything if you plan on driving without A/C. You're still able to turn on your A/C but no cold air will come and you might hear rattling or clunking noise coming from the A/C compressor.
If you're saying that the compressor is locked then toss that bad boy and get a replacement. If it was the compressor clutch then you can replace it but from the look of it, your compressor is gone.
