Default Bypassing air condition?

i heard that if i get a smaller belt that doesn't connect to the air its the same as taking the air out just not taking it out so that when i need it again i can just reattach the belt?

Naw mang, I just mean that the belt that connects to the ac is driven off the crank pulley and it is a single belt. If you got a smaller belt it wouldn't even work, it just be sitting there. I have seen people take there belt completely off with no adverse affects, but never seen anyone use a smaller belt.

The only two items on that belt are the crank pulley and the A/C compressor... just take the belt off if you want to bypass the A/C, but I don't think it's really worth it... you really only see a loss of power if you have the A/C ON... when it's off, it's nothing more than a free-spinning pulley on the compressor end.

Weight. The system weighs nearly 100lbs with the inside and underhood parts. That's all - makes it quicker in the 1/4

it will probably be a Pain in the ***!!! depending on what you take out

condensor, dryer, compresser and 2 litte lines... easy
the long ac lines that connects to the evaporater.. kinda difficult

depends on how much time you have

i took my whole ac system out in under an hour. very simple if you are even mildly mechanically inclined.

Hmmm

Maybe i will hook it back up??
Will my stock 93 civic A/C, hook up to my 97 b18b1??

I think it does but i am too lazy to run outside and look, can anyone confirm this for me??

Edit: Do you guys think it is worth it to keep it, i live in montreal canada and use it for only a month at the most a year??

i dropped .2 on my timeslips after pulling the ac, but that could just be the driver, not the car..

which front mount did you use? the one off the b18b? or from a del sol VTEC?

The ac system has r134(or r12 old school) in it and it is also a lubricant to keep all the seals in the compressor and lines at peak performance. If you take all this stuff off it could ruin the seals if not used for extended periods of time. I personoally don't know how long though.
