How to install a B16 VTEC head on a B18A1 block properly
I just got a DB1 with a B16 VTEC head on it but I feel it kinda week. And since this is my first vtec I was wondering the things I need to put on the engine soo that the VTEC could kick in hard, because I heard that if you dont install the B16 head right it ends up making your engine loose horsepower.
This has been covered so many times it's getting ridiculous, just do an advanced search and you'll be good to go man.
Simply put, just buy a GE ls/vtec kit, and ditch the headgasket that's included. You'll also have to tap the block for a plug that should be included. Super simple. It sounds like you already have the b16 head on the ls block. You won't achieve the extra power it sounds like your looking for with simple bolt ons, start venturing into internals. Also hopefully he at least put b16 pistons on the ls rods before putting the head on. That could also be an issue.
SIDE NOTE: VTEC should not "kick in hard". Or crack hard like geniuses often say, it should be a smooth transition. Do some research so you'll be better prepared, or else your looking at some reliability issues. GL
