Ok so basically, i bought this honda civic, and ever since i got it, its been a great car it runs great and everything..except when u go to turn the car on..all it does is crank and not turn on.. if you leave the key in the on position it will take about 5-15 minutes roughly and randomly for the main relay to click, once that main relay clicks it starts right up with no problems..

in fact..once it clicks for the first time, u can turn off the car and turn the key to the on position and it will click right away.. so i though..get a new main relay..and i did..problem is..it still takes the main relay like 5-15 minutes to click.. so then i though,once the relay clicks u can then hear the fuel pump go off..so i though, lets check the fuel pump? so i hot wired the fuel pump straight to the battery, fuel pump was on and everything, but still until that new main relay clicks, my car just wont start...there have been days where it starts right away, and some where it takes a very long time for it to click, is it an ECU problem or what can u guys think of? i did get a tune up on it got blets replace oil changed fuel system cleaning and like i said..once i get it turned on its great..just usually takes 5-15 minutes.

also, i have been searching on the net and i read that im suppose to see the engine light come on for the first 2 seconds when i turn that key, but ive actually never seen my engine light at all..could it be connected or just blown bulb or something?

blown bulb for the light.. as for the delay not sure. check wires, grounds, battery.

 

batterie, starter and alternator are fine i had them tested in 3 different places. as far as dthe delay, im totally not sure what to make of it anymore because for example..today the car started right up every single time, but then tomorrow, itll go 10-15 mins before itll start. and its always once that relay clicks..

 

anyone at all have an idea as to whats causing the delay?
