1993 del sol Lower motor mount size mystery...
So i decided to start replacing the motor mounts in my 93 del sol. They are all pretty shot at 200k miles. I started with the drivers side lower mount. I removed the old one, was pretty easy, and got ready to install the new one. Thats when i noticed that the hole in the insert was way bigger then the shaft from the mount. The shaft on the motor mount itself is 1/2 wide. While the hole in the insert is over 3/4 of an inch wide. This would allow the mount to bang around inside the insert due to a lack of a tight fit. What is wrong here? seems the old mount whoever before me replaced was too big as well. I took pictures to show the sizes of everything. Anyone know what my problem is here? thanks in advance.
First picture is the old and the new mount.
second is the measurement of the hole of the insert of the new mount
third is the measurement of the hole of the old mount
fourth picture is the measurement of the 1/2 shaft that goes into the motor mount insert hole
last picture shows the loose play of the insert on the motor mount

Thats just the way they are. All of them are like that. Make sure you reuse the special washer, its got 2 flat sides to grab 2 of the 6 flat sides on the shaft.
