dose everyone here get bad mileage with ur ITRs ? I think there is something wrong with my car but i dont know what it is.....my car emptys a full tank in 300km (186mile) and i drive in traffic all the time (and i never pushing the car hard), my friend told me his GSR gets AT LEAST 500km (310mile) befre he emptys his tank and he drives his car HARD (redlines it all the time)... anyone know what might be the cause of this problem?? I had my neighbor look at it (he know a bit about cars) and he told me to do an oil change, which i did and i'm still getting bad mileage.... please help thanks

 

24-26 mpg city (and highway stock)
32+ mpg highway with Spec B's

 

that's about what I do !!! TRY new plugs ans some different gas and you MIGHT see a little difference.

 

Ask what other BC ITR owners' get per tank...

B.C. and Seattle driving requires more hills than a lot of other cities I've been too... You should still at least get 250miles to tank.

 

I got 240 miles on the first tank of gas in my 96 CX with B18C5. But that was babying it and not going past 4k rpm almost most of the time.

Now that I am on it a little more, it isn't so good.

I have 550 miles and I am on my 3rd fill up with half a tank or so left.

 

You don't mention how many gallons you put in the car after each 186 miles. If you're putting in around 8 gallons when you fill it up, your mileage is normal; the difference between your friend's GS-R and your ITR may be simply that he lets the gas gauge go below E before he fills it so he's using 11-12 gallons for his 310 miles and you're not using as much gas, and that's why you're not getting as many miles.

in seattle i used to go like 300 off of about 11-11.5 gallons. here i go like 270 miles and i fill up 12 gallons. DAMN this cali 91 octane crap!

 

your car might be running too rich and burning excess fuel, does your exhaust fumes smell like fuel after the car has fully warmed up and the rpms are at around 750 +- 50 rpm?

Low 20s in "city". Low 30s on highway.

 

Keep it out of VTEC and you can get 450km+ no problem.......

WIth my ATS I can't get over 200 per tank. damn revving to 5k at 80

oh and what are the things i can do so that it wont "run rich" and what dose it mean to "run rich".... i got this car 2nd hand so i dont know what the previous owner did to the car...

 

I can make it to tampa with a half tank left.

 

ATS final Drive. The stock final drive ratio is 4.4 and the ATS is 4.929. So I changed my final drive to give me better acceration and to stay in the rev range longer BUT by doing so it raise my RPM's by 500 in every gear and lowered my top end by 5-7 mph. Its the best damn mod you can do, it feels like night and day difference. BTW the JDM final drive is 4.785 so here is the US we got jacked

 

what about with my rpms at 1K even after fully warmed up? dose it mean its running rich ? some one please help

Edit: ok someone just told it might be a bad o2 sensor or some other sensor going wrong...could that be it? and whats an o2 sensor for?

This is about right. Keep in mind though, traffic brings your milage down.... Sounds like you drive a lot in traffic.

 

I swear my ITR eats up gass like V8... well when you're above 5800 RPMS at least.

 

i got about 420kms per tank.. and hit Vtec probarbly 2 times per week ..

 

I heard something like 11mpg in VTEC.

 

it doesn't eat gas if you stay below 3k. i get around 26-27mpg on street. 30fwy. but if i keep shifting at 4K, i barely get 20 . weird..
