D17A2 A/C delete

long story short I've somehow killed two compressors in less then a year. I want to just replace the compressor with a pulley or buy a shorter belt has anyone done this befor?

A/C was an option on the DX model. Just go the dealer and get a belt for a civic with no A/C.

thanks i was not sure if a/c was standard on all models or if on non a/c motor they just tossed on a pully
