Default Power window problem

So I can't seem to find anyone who's had a similar problem with their power window.

95 Civic EX
The window goes down just fine, but when I try rolling it back up it stops about 2 inches from the top and won't go any further. The motor keeps trying, but the window starts making a banging noise like it's partially off the track. I can't seem to find the problem spot with such little working room. Anyone know what the problem might be and/or how I can get in there to fix it?

Could be a misaligned window or bad regualtor, but first try spraying some silicone lubricant into the rubber side channels.

Nope...Didn't work. Thanks for trying to help though! I'm thinking it's the regulator...so I guess I'll just take everything apart and try to find out.

Yeah, the next step is to pull the door panel off and check whether the window regulator is broken or misaligned or the glass is misaligned.

I already have the door panel off, and as far as I can see and feel, everything seems to be "on track." How would I know if the regulator is broken or misaligned?

thanks, im gonna take the window apart tomorrow and check the teeth on the regulator. That's what I had come down to thinking, I'll post afterwards about the outcome.
