?s for people with 97 ITRs(especially if you bought one new)
I am about to purchase a 97 ITR and have a few questions if anybody can help me out. First off, is their a service schedule somewhere on the internet? I know Acura used to have it on their website, but it is no longer there(the whole My Acura customer service part is down). I am most interested in the timming belt...is it recommended at 90k or at 105k like the newer ITRs?
Did the 1997 ITR come with anything special when it was purchased new? For example...the 91 NSX came with a Titanium key in a cool wooden box, a coffee table book(on the development and production of the car...some people got one big book($$$ on eBay) and one small book, most got just the small book, and some got none!), etc. I am buying the 97 from the original owner and want to make sure that I do not miss out on anything before I sign over the check! I know that most stuff is ment to be kept by the original owner, but I have the titanium key, window sticker(with $30,000 dealer markup!), and leather NSX luggage set. At least I let him keep the coffee table books!

Some of them came with numbered certificates showing their exclusivity. I think the 'Type R' key is the other item and the rest would be extra depending on dealership.
I would try to get the following:
1. typeR key
2. certificate
3. window sticker
4. owner's manual
5. floormat, original emergency jack & spare tire
6. center console cover with correct typeR #
that's all the I can think of now...

Does anybody have a brochure for the 97? I do not know if I do or not....I have this panplet that is like a 3 page(front and back) cardboard handout(about the size of an old record album jacket?) intorducing the Type R...it is what Acura shipped out for internet brochure request.
Any ideas on timming belt replacement intervals? What is suggested for 98?
Thanks guys!

I never got a certificate with my 97 R
(And I got it the first day the 97s were released)
timing belt change is 60 000 for severe conditions(It should be in your owners manual)

Thanks ITR132...the owners manual is like 5+ states away from me
I wanted to be sure that it was not supposed to be replaced at 60k before I drove it home. Has anybody had one break with under 90k miles? I usually replace them way before hand, but I would rather do it myself at home than let Acura do it 1000 miles away from home.

OK, I talked to the owner again and he is throwing in all the original paperwork plus some other goodies. He said the Acura(not sure if it was the local dealer or Honda/Acura North America) sent him a letter and poster of the Realtime/Comptec Integra Type R thanking him for his purchase. It was hanging up at his office, but he offered to take it down and put it in with the car. Did anybody else receive this or was it the local dealer.
anyone know anybody selling a 97 itr or a salvage/repairable one?

How to get the cert from Acura, can I call them? My 97R do not have a cert, I know they were supposed to mail to me, I'm the original owner but I don't have a cert.
Man, I didn't get ANYTHING when i got my '01. The hoopla and fanfare was over, since the car was in its fourth year of release?

I've never heard of a certificate with ITRs, but others need to chime in here. I have my OEM rubber topped key, Acura factory window sticker, owners manual with a flashlight or some chit in there. More factory '97 info would be nice (brochures, letters, etc that anyone here has).
Also try to get the brochure. Mint condition ones are collectables, at least the 98 ones are.
He hates to sell it but he needs a minivan...5 kids! He found out his wife was pregant with twins two days after he picked up the ITR(he put a deposit down 2 years before it came out). So, they are getting to the age where he has to drive them around everywhere and they do not fit in the ITR too well.
