Tranny Removal gone wrong HELP!!!
i was planning on changing my own clutch today on my 92 Hatch. i thought i took all the bolts out but i missed the hidden one that holds the starter. i wedged the tranny to remove it and used the pry bar too hard and took a chunk of the engine block where the starter bolt was holding it(tranny is ok). is it possible to still use the engine block and jb weld it?? or do i need a new engine?
just skip that part of the engine when you put it back. its just the little corner.. you got plenty of reinforcement. jb weld it if you really want that piece there. i think you should just so it wont look corny. but dont worry, its nothing majour if it didnt leak oil or coolant from there.
yikes! dude that sucks
pics of said carnage?
it's possible to hold the starter in with just one bolt, but i don't recommend it. depending on how it broke you might be able to have it tig welded back in place. dunno if i'd trust jb weld.. guess it all depends on how exactly it broke.
