Is there a reason the car was repainted?

 

No the car was not wrecked. I did the front conversion, and I fixed some smaller dings and such on the whole car, deleted the antenna. I could not afford to get the car painted the original color again, so I did it my way, plus just wanted to experiment a little bit as well.
