I purchased a fairly clean 1992 civic VX this weekend, and realized today that it has body side mouldings, and they are actually popped in, not attached with 2 sided tape. Has anyone ever seen or heard of a civic vx with oem body side mouldings? This car is definitely a real vx right down to the 5 wire o2 sensor and other extra sensors. I have owned about 50 '92 to '95 civics, so no one is going to pass off a dx as a vx on me. Any ideas?

Obviously it crossed my mind, but that would be a pain in the ***, and almost impossible, but you never know I guess...
Check out the vin on the firewall, specifically the 8th character from the left. If it's 5 it's a DX chassis, if it's 9 it's a VX chassis.
My 94 VX had them but they where stick on and didn't clip into the little holes. I assume its a DEALER option. My car also has pinstripes and other things.
Are all of the panels original?? Maybe the doors were replaced with newer ones because of dents or an accident just a big mabe in still new to the honda scene but my 92 cx doesn't have the side moldings and from what I've seen and learned is the 93+ had the moldings so there's a high chance the prev owner used newer doors? And then mabe cut the squares out on the rest??

BlueIntegraBoy...Obviously it is not impossible, but who in their right mind would do such a thing to an otherwise bone stock civic vx? I guess the proper phrase would be that it would "not be worth the effort" to cut out little square holes in order to intall body side mouldings.
The 8th vin from the left is a 6?
Ha - well I wonder what this one's fate is?
If the 8th VIN digit is a 6 and you're sure it's a 1992, then it's a Canadian model VX - which had a lot of bastard children in terms of mixture of trim levels. They weren't always as distinct here as in the US, I find. Got a lot of CXs here with rear wipers, for example.
A way to tell: Is the 12th digit a 5 (US) or 0 (Canada)?
US 1992 VX: 2HGEH239*NH500001
Canada 1992 VX: 2HGEH236*NH000001
