Hearing noises from my tranny...
So i went to the mechanic and he told me it was the throwout bearing making a loud "shh shh shh shh" noise. ok..went and bought a competition clutch kit (Stage 1.5) to install. the noise went away until i got on the highway. same noise came back but worse. the mechanic put in amsoil and told me noise would probably go away but didnt. I Drive an 02 Rsx-S. could anybody help me pinpoint where the problem could possibly be/.? thanks@!
ya the through out bearing inside the tranny is on it's way out... it will take a little time before it is completely finished... worse that can happen is you will not be able to stay in gear/not drive. This happened to me on my EG.
either the mechanic is ****ing with you and only lubed the old throw out bearing so it can start making noise again, and he can tell you its the tranny. or the main bearing in the tranny is ****ed.
is it necessary to use the F word so much in one sentence?
Come on dude no need for that kind of language! Certainly when you are making a good statement!

lol.. he reused the old tob lol.. ok if thats not the case yeah you could have some bad carrier bearing on the inside of the trans.. maybe some bent syncros or even broken needle bearings.. most people at that point would be like aww **** it..

no he replaced the throwout bearing. i was there and witnessed the whole thing. he also mentioned it might be coming from the diff..i dont want this turning into an expensive guessing game...well since the trannys coming off might as well change the synchros on 2nd gear
you know it could be your mounts hitting the frame.. look at the pass side mount it can get binded up during load and rub the car making a god awful noise that sounds like its coming from the tranny..hard to tell when in the car hood down sometimes.. we had this happen to my 05 rsx .. hell we tore the tranny down and couldn't find a problem.. thought it was the diff and maybe the tob.. replaced the tob.. lol and this was at acura btw.. so its not like we didn't have enough eyes.. boy did we feel dumb when we found it
