Has the AutoLock been recalled?
Went to 2 WalMarts today and both said that they had to pull them off the shelves because of a recall, possibly because of copyright issues. They said that PepBoys carries it, but I dont want to buy one if the recall was because of a defect. If it had something to do with a patent, then fine, as long as it works correctly, but if there is something wrong with the product itself, then I'm going to hold off.
Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks Greg. I'm looking for an excuse to drive my R
, so I'm going to stop by PepBoys now and see if they have any.
BTW, can anyone tell me the difference between the standard Autolock and the Autolock Pro?

Packaging and the position of the actual locking mechanism. I bought the pro for piece of mind, probably would kick my self later down the line knowing that I could have got the "PRO" instead of regular.
Also, it comes with a $5000 gaurantee instead of a $1000.. hah!
My friends and I debated over this at the store when we were buying ours.

$100? I got mine for $69
The AutoLock Pro at PepBoys was $59.99, which is cheaper than the internet sites I was checking out. The standard AutoLock was 39.99, but I felt it was worth the extra $20. If you read the package on the standard autolock it will say "resists freon, resists picking, resists cutting.....etc". On the Pro it says pick-proof, freon-proof, cut-proof....etc.
To me the $5000 (covers up to 5k from your deductable) is not the reason why I bought it. I simply bought it to add another obstacle between my car and thieves, thats all.
PS
I'm not totally sure how that 5k and 1k thing works because I havnt had the chance to read it yet, but they used the word "comprehensive" when explaining what it was for and they also mentioned that they only cover your deductable....at least thats what I thought I read.
