94 Civic, D16Z6, VTEC was working and now isn't, no CEL's, already been searching....
I've been doing a lot of searching around on here for VTEC trouble shooting and I have found some good threads. But nothing has had what I need. Heres my situation:
94 Civic
D16Z6
VTEC has been working fine for about a year and a half and now all of the sudden is no longer working
The car is not throwing any CEL codes
Everything else is working except VTEC
I have already tried:
-checked all wiring, everything looks mint
-took off the VTEC solenoid and cleaned it and put it back on even tho it didn't look that dirty
-checked the oil, its right where it should be
I'm at a loss for what else would be causing VTEC not to work and also not being throwing a CEL.

Does the CEL work? It should turn on and then off after 2 seconds when the key is turned to ON(II), if no codes are thrown.
New information:
The car is using a USDM P28 ECU. but I just test drove it and it was limiting my revs at 6800, shouldn't it be 7200. But I guess cuz VTEC is not engaging it's limiting it earlier?

Does your car have a clutch activation safety switch that requires you to push the clutch in before you're able to start the car?

Clutch Safety Switch has nothing to do with Varible Valve Timing. i would run a 12v wire from battery to the 1pin solenoid wire withe the car off and see if the solenoid activates. should make a click sound. if not chances are solenoid is bad. to confirm take a digital multimeter and check the resistance of the coil. report back with ur findings
