you may need a different turbo to reach your power goal....

at that compression you will be luck to make 400 whp. This is not 96' you can run higher compression no days. If you don't want to change compression chagne turbo's, mayeb a 35r or one of the new billet 6262's

I agree. You won't make 500hp on that turbo. Why do you want to run such low compression? That car is going to be a slug out of boost.

Change your compression to the 9.x:1 area, high boost and E85 would be the best bet for 500whp, may even want to consider 10:1

change turbos and leave the rest of the set-up, however im concerned that your cam choice is NOT going to work good or at with 8.4:1 compression perhaps you should contact bisimoto or raise your compression.

yeah, there is really no reason to have that low compression. anything in the mid 9's is more than fine. i also agree that you will need a larger turbo, as well as e85 or some high octane on pump local to you for the goals you have.

I would go with E85 fuel. The billet precisions are what most people run now. The 6162 or 6262 will be most ideal. Please bump up that compression also. I wouldn't even consider 9.0:1 for a street turbo. I would start somewhere around 9.7:1-10.8:1. The higher compression really helps with your low end. Running a higher compression you will also achieve your horsepower goals with lesser boost.

Should be able to get really close to, if not reach, 500hp with that turbo, just not with 93 octane.

not exactly a good comparison engine V.E. in honda is better and the head flow is also better.

thanks for the info. i would love to run e85 which is how i got the car but it wouldnt be the most practical for daily driving...yea im going to use this turbo for the time being because its brand new....but i will definitely look into getting a bigger turbo.

I remember someone said that these are honda/acuras. Not DSM's. So do not treat them like a DSM.

i did that on my 2 liter motor, 18 psi though. i bought my current 60-1 for 300 bucks used 3000 miles in good condition. now i know they arent the best of technology, but they have been getting the job done for a long time and offer a cheaper alternative to newer turbos

your motor seems built enough, you could run in the 10:1 range.

and since you are sleeved, dont bother with 81.5mm, go up to 83 or 84mm. you will thank yourself when driving around town. i was very happy with the upgrade from 81 to 84mm when i did it a few years ago.

LOL I guess this graph wasnt possible with an 81.5mm GSR stock cams @ 8.2:1 Compression....

wut u tryin to say here lolz j/k.

Ok, not that you can't do 400hp on low compression, its just that there is no need to go that low...

you totally do get it. we are no longer on the question of compression ratios but rather turbo size.

Making the static CR lower creates a larger combustion chamber, and raises the ceiling on the amount of power you can make on a given fuel. It also dramatically lessens the volatility of the engine if it's operated close to where detonation will take place.

But the power made is still the same. given the same turbo, you can take an 8.5:1 motor, throw 20psi at it and make XX power. You can take a 9.5:1, use less boost and make the same power. ITs the difference between getting to effective compression that makes the compression ratios differently. But it doesn't make more power with lower, than with higher, unless that pressure ratio of that turbocharger is not efficient in that island.

Taking power per psi, and psi out of the equatoin, which will make more overall power on say 93 octane before detenating 8.4 or 10.0?

cfm is still an issue, but 8.4cr gives you more room to play around with timing events and be more aggresive on lower octanes. could you be aggressive on lower octanes with 10:1cr? yes, BUT your going to be running really rich and that in itself will create some problems.

t3/t67h.o. dotted was 15psi with some boost creep and the solid line is 21-23psi using E85.... the motor carried that hp past 10k rpm.

if the engine is already built run it. just get a bigger turbo. even with higher compression you would need a bigger turbo anyway. get rid of that CTR crank pulley though that is an oil pump killer. ive seen a couple b series oil pumps let go on the dyno because of this.
